Law and Ethics of Neurotechnology in Criminal Justice (LENC)

Crime comes with enormous societal costs. Neurotechnology could help reduce recidivism and make society safer. But these techniques – in which the brains of offenders may even be changed – entail considerable risks, for instance for a person’s bodily and mental integrity. How can they be applied responsibly?

On 30-31 October 2025 the LENC team will organise an international conference on Minds, Freedoms and Rights. We are looking forward to welcoming those interested in this field of research to Amsterdam. More information can be found on the Conference Website.
